United Nations Tax Equalization Refund Act

Under a vote that required a two-thirds majority, the House failed to pass this bill (259-169, 6 Not Voting) that would establish as United States policy that the United Nations should return $179 million overpaid in to the U.N. Tax Equalization Fund as of Dec. 31, 2009, and that the U.S. should press the U.N. to change its fund assessment procedures to reduce discrepancies. The future of the bill is unclear.
