The Library: When low-tech is better than hi-tech

I went to the library the other day, figured I’d look and see if there were any books on off-grid power.

There are two sets of computers, one set used to surf the web (that you need to sign-up to use and “take a number,” and another set that only access the library’s catalog. This is what I was met with on EVERY "catalog" computer:

Being an old guy (30-something) I looked for the card-catalog. None existed. In other words, if the catalog server goes down, or if access to the server is lost, there goes your ability to look things up… to look ANYTHING up.
