JoeLevi.com: down for a bit, back up now

To all my faithful readers (both of you), I sincerely apologize for the inability to connect to JoeLevi.com over the several hours.

Apparently there was a routing problem that affected my web host’s domain. Oddly enough this only seems to have broken SQL connections — you know, the “stuff” that you need to get your site to talk to your database…

The issue should be resolved now. My web host has filed a formal complaint to their upstream provider regarding this issue.

Upon further investigation it looks like the issue was not in their hands either, but was with a network router owned by a different ISP that provides routing and connection for the US west coast.

So, if you’ve been having problems accessing your favorite sites today, you might be suffering from the same root problem.

(Thank you to Andrew from webhost4life.com for being so helpful in getting to the bottom of this issue!)
