Vote "FOR" "Amendment A" and Save Our Secret Ballot

Nancy Pelosi and other democratic leaders have indicated they will try to pass “Card Check” during their lame duck session after the November election.  You can STOP Nancy, Harry and Obama by voting “FOR” Utah Constitutional Amendment A and prevent Card Check legislation, if passed, from being implemented in Utah.

Card Check is the proposed Federal legislation officially known as the Employee Free Choice Act.  Seems an ambiguous title for a proposed law that would change how unions are allowed to organize workers in the United States by eliminating a secret ballot!  Under the existing law today, workers have a chance to vote for or against unionization in a private-ballot election that is federally supervised.  If Card Check is passed by Congress, and more than 50% of workers at a facility sign a card, the government would have to certify them as a union, and a private ballot election would be prohibited-even if workers want one.

Utah Constitutional Amendment A will be on your ballot and would protect your right to a secret ballot for all elections, including union representation votes.

This is the language that will appear on your ballot for Constitutional Amendment A:

“Shall the Utah Constitution be amended to specify that elections currently required to be by secret ballot include elections under state or federal law for public office, on an initiative or referendum, or to designate or authorize employee or individual representation?”
