800-FREE-411Today is November 12th, 2010, the day Google said they were turning off their GOOG411 service.
For those of you who don’t know, GOOG411 was a replacement for “411”. Instead of dialing 411 on your phone to get information and find a phone number, you could dial 1-800-GOOG-411 and get the same service from Google. It worked so well that my wife even recommended it to friends and family members (which is saying a lot!).
Today that service is scheduled to go away. 🙁
Your options now? Other than going back to paying for 411, you could try:
- 1-800-FREE-411
- 1-800-BING-411
