Cooking Sunday Dinner in the Sun Oven

Cooking takes energy, a LOT of energy! Where that energy is sourced varies. You might cook with gas or electricity on a daily basis. You might use electricity converted into microwaves. You might cook on a grill or even over a fire.

In all cases, you need fuel. Fuel can be expensive, and fuel can be scarce — especially in emergencies.

The Sun Oven is a super-insulated box that you can use to collect light energy from the sun and convert into heat energy to cook food. I was skeptical, but it looked cool, and sounded like a good backup to have on-hand, so I bought one.

In this video I’ll unbox it, set it up, and cook a Sunday meal, compete with roast, potatoes, and carrots. Hit play and see how it all worked out.
