I have a friend from high-school who was recently told he son has a tumor in his brain. (Full story can be found at her blog.) During the whole process of getting her son to Primary Children's Medical Center from her home in Logan they decided it would be best to put their family dog in a local kennel.
Once everyone was back home (awaiting a second opinion from Johns Hopkins) they went to pick up the dog, the kennel owner had learned of the reason for needing the kennel service and refused payment (hundreds of dollars by then).
