A T-Mobile Dash meets and untimely death

I work at a company that “makes stuff” and has a fairly large campus (a dozen or so buildings at this location alone). The buildings are basically very long warehouses that sit right next to train tracks for loading and unloading.

To get between buildings we sometimes use a contraption called an “EZ-GO” (basically just a customized golf-cart). Some of these carts are electric, some run on propane.

Not long ago one of our employees noticed a “burning smell” coming from the gearbox. When they stopped to see what the problem was they dug our their phone, still in it’s hip-case. Poor phone.
