Reid's Energy Bill DOUBLES Your Energy Costs

TAKE NOTICE – Reid’s new Gulf Oil Spill bill is another attempt to sneak his energy tax bill under the noses of the American people THIS WEEK WITH A VOTE BEFORE GOING ON VACATION at the beach.

The bill is disguised as a piece of legislation to help the Gulf States hurting from the oil spill.

Nothing could be further than the truth. Reid is capitalizing on the tragedy of the oil spill as a way to DOUBLE all your energy costs. Reid’s bill is politics at its worst. He is taking advantage of people whose lives have been destroyed to make big bucks for Washington.

Obama and Reid went into crisis mode and issued a moratorium on oil drilling, effectively stopping all drilling. They said it was because they wanted to “make sure another oil spill didn’t happen.” How they believe they can prevent another oil spill from happening when they have no clue what caused the first one is absolutely ridiculous. It makes no sense to ban oil drilling in an area that relies primarily on the oil industry for jobs. Because of the oil spill jobs have vanished and families are suffering. Not to mention, we are still in the throes of the Great Recession. It is pure and simple arrogance for Reid and his cohorts to shut down the very industry that is employing people.

IDIOCRACY: TAX HIKES & DESTROYING JOBS WILL NOT PREVENT OIL SPILLS

Reid and Obama’s first attempt to stop drilling in the Gulf was put hold in May due in insufficient evidence. Patience has never been a virtue for Reid and Obama so they took their case to the Department of the Interior. The Department of the Interior has now banned drilling until November 30th. Obama has totally obliterated the Gulf Coast’s economy. It is pure ignorance on Obama’s part: with no drilling there are no jobs. Businesses have collapsed, families have been destroyed and Americans are going hungry. Now all drilling will be done overseas and American’s have lost their jobs to foreigners. So much for “focusing on the economy” Obama.

CREATE JOBS SO WE CAN EARN MONEY INSTEAD OF SPENDING OUR MONEY

429,000 people on the Gulf Coast are now jobless and that number is rapidly climbing. Instead of focusing on getting people back to work and repairing the Gulf, Reid is eagerly anticipating his long awaited victory on Cap & Tax. For months Reid and the Liberals have been using every dirty trick in the book to get Cap & Tax passed. Now, the Gulf Coast disaster has given them a perfect opportunity to force the American people to cough up big bucks to pay for our “damaging carbon footprints.” Reid wants $150 billion dollars out of our pocketbooks to develop energy programs that don’t even exist yet. Where is the money going if the programs don’t exist? To Reid and his Washington fat cats. Every time you switch on a light switch you might as well wire your paycheck to Reid’s bank account.

On Obama’s recent family vacation to Maine he chose to stay in a hotel in Bar Harbor, closing off the main street to get downtown. Obama practically shut down the city. He destroyed revenue for the small businesses that depend on tourism because people were not even allowed downtown in case they interrupted Obama’s numerous golf rounds or pricey lunches. Our tax dollars paid for Obama’s posh hotel, while small business owners suffered. That is exactly the type of insane logic that Reid and Obama are using in their new energy bill. They are destroying jobs and small businesses then asking Americans to pay their personal bills!
