Obama Calls For Internet ID To Track You

ALERT: Obama is gearing up to give the Commerce Department the ability to create an Internet ID for each and every American!

The Obama administration is currently drafting the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC) Act. The new law will create a trackable ID for every single internet user in the U.S.

Officials claim the Internet ID will eliminate fraud and identity theft while streamlining online transactions. In reality, the Internet ID will give the government an open door to spy on your private life. From your banking transactions to the websites you visit, Big Brother will be keeping a close eye on you.

Government Snoops To Monitor Your Personal Computer

How will the new Internet ID work? First, you will have to request a smart identity card from your home state. The process of obtaining an ID card will be somewhat similar to the hugely inconvenient process of obtaining a drivers license.  You will then be required to use the card to authenticate your identity for a plethora of online services including:

  • Credit card purchases
  • Online banking
  • Accessing electronic health care records
  • Securely accessing your personal laptop computer
  • Anonymously posting blog entries
  • Logging onto Internet email services using a pseudonym.

So, next time you want to make an anonymous comment on a forum or buy a new book from Amazon, you will be required to use a government smart card to do your business on the Internet. There is no reason the government needs to stick its nose in your personal online activity.

Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke said, “We are not talking about a national ID card. We are not talking about a government-controlled system. What we are talking about is enhancing online security and privacy, and reducing and perhaps even eliminating the need to memorize a dozen passwords, through creation and use of more trusted digital identities.”

An ID card for each and every Internet user certainly sounds like a national ID card. The new law would require all Americans to register their names, address, and other personal information with the government. If that isn’t a national ID, I don’t know what is.

Internet IDs Will Be Used To Monitor Those Who Oppose Big Government

In April of 2010, Janet Napolitano and the Department of Homeland Security issued a controversial report, warning law enforcement officials about a rise in “rightwing extremist activity.”  The Recession, disgruntled war veterans and the election of America’s first black president are the so-called reasons for the increase in “right wing extremist activity.”

The report defines “rightwing extremism in the United States” as including not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority. Do you think states should have the right to reject ObamaCare? Well, that’s rejecting federal authority and automatically puts you on the list. The report goes on to say that even groups who oppose abortion or immigration will be classified as a threat to national security.

Unfortunately, there are dangerous nut jobs out there. However, the majority of Americans who hold strong conservative values are regular law abiding citizens who don’t deserve to have their names be put on a list of list of people considered “dangerous” to the U.S.

Most likely, the new Internet ID will be used to track and monitor Americans who oppose the Obama regime. Any action you take, from donating to a pro-life group to visiting a conservative news site, will be subject to the prying eyes of Obama, Janet Napolitano and other big government bureaucrats.

Jim Dempsey of the Center for Democracy and Technology said, “The government cannot create that identity infrastructure. If I tried to, I wouldn’t be trusted.”

FCC Okays Internet Freedom Grab

The new Internet ID card scheme comes after the FCC has voted to take away online freedom without approval from Congress last December. The new law will give Obama and his cronies full control of the world wide web. The Internet regulation plan was created under the guise to protect us against foreign crime, espionage and cyber-attacks. Like the national Internet ID, the Internet ID act will destroy all opinions of dissent and limit criticisms of the ever expanding tentacles of big government. You will now be under the microscope of Obama and big brother.

The act was met with seething disapproval from Republican FCC Commissioner Rob McDowell. McDowell said, “Nothing is broken in the Internet access market that needs fixing; the FCC does not have the legal authority to issue these rules; [and] the proposed rules are likely to cause irreparable harm.”

Our constitution gives us the right to free speech. Nowhere in the constitution does it say free speech or must be monitored by the government. Enough is enough. We must act now to protect our right to privacy and personal freedom. Time is running out.
