FireFly

Some time ago my wife and I saw a poster at our local movie theater advertising a show called Serenity. It looked pretty good, both action/adventure (which my wife enjoys) and Sci-fi (which I enjoy).

We watched it and loved it!

Later I was talking about with with a friend and a co-worker overheard. “You know that’s based on a TV series, right?” he asked. “There’s a whole season out that takes place before the movie. It’s called FireFly.” He loaded me hid discs and my wife and I loved every minute of it, which only made watching the movie that much more sad (after you’d invested yourself in the characters, only to have them killed or die in the move, and knowing it was the “last episode” was disheartening).

Here’s one of my favorite scenes from FireFly:

  1. I loved both Firefly and Serenity. To bad the series did not last and so far there is no sign of a movie sequel. I have actually heard the genre referred to as a Space-Western.

    @Rhonda Tipton,

    Great show! Makes me wish I knew how to cuss in Chinese though… (those who’ve watched the show know what I’m talking about).

    Funny about the Space-Western comments, that is what Lucille Ball sold “Star Trek” as to the network executives: Cowboys in Space.

    Thanks for the comment!
