Reject the REAL ID… in all its forms

Repeal the REAL ID ActWhen the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was formed, one of the stipulations that Congress made clear was that they would not create any National ID card. They did so anyway, thumbing their nose at you and at the will of the American People.

We did not stand idly by. We rebelled. We told you that we would not comply. We told our State Legislatures that we would not comply.

But DHS and the current Administration aren’t backing down. The DHS and the President are going after Government Employees and contractors (via HSD12) and Transportation Workers (via the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card) and are forcing them to get these national identification cards — or lose their jobs. That’s a thinly veiled attempt to force "chunks" of Americans into getting some form of National ID Card.

Just like we didn’t stand for the REAL ID card, we won’t stand for other "National ID Cards" either.

They are trying to "pick off the herd" — hitting one industry at a time until so many people have National ID Cards that no one is left to resist. Those with the National ID Cards may even begin to think it would be "right" if everyone had one.

It’s a classic totalitarian strategy, summed up by the German Pastor Martin Niemoller:

"…first (they came) for the Communists,
And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist;
And then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist;
And then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew;
And then… they came for me…
and by that time there was no one left to speak up."

Twenty-one states are refusing to comply with the REAL ID. It’s probably the biggest rebellion against the federal government since the Civil War.

What will you do to protect yourself, your family, and your neighbors against this Federal intrusion?

    Well, here is another “form” of national ID to add to your list: the enhanced driver’s license (EDL). Washington State has already started to issue these, they are half drivers license and half passport, creating a murky combination of documents that is now some sort of state/federal hybrid document. Essentially, it reduces the role of the state to administrator, and the state itself to just another data field on the card (albeit in a bright, snazzy logo). These also come with RFID computer chips. NY is already following Washington State on this.

    @Pete,

    Thanks for the heads up! Any chance you can get a non-resident Driver’s License from a neighboring state?
