Syracuse Residents May Get Chickens

February 12th, 2008 by Joe

Syracuse, Utah Title X governs how residents can acceptably use their land and is being re-worked by the City’s Planning Commission.

One of the more interesting changes would be the allowance for residentially zoned properties to have up to 5 hens for the purpose of pets or gathering eggs. This is up from the previous 2 "fowl" which had to be purchased through a State Licensed Pet Store — honestly! How many pets stores do you know that sell chickens?

The proposals made it through the Planning Commission and now go up for Public Comment on March 4th, 2008 at the new Syracuse Municipal Building.

Hope to see you there!
