Maybe the trees don’t want to be hugged…

July 26th, 2004 by Joe Levi

I consider myself more environmentally aware and responsible than the average Joe. (Who do you know that’s quoted out an active solar array with grid-interconnect? Just saving my pennies…) I have seven trees in my front yard, I grow a small garden, I compost and mulch, I recycle as much as is reasonable given the local infrastructure, I even want to make my own Vertical Axis Wind Turbine… But this article makes you wonder if it’s really all worth it…

Via NewsOK.com, “TULSA - Blake Champlin, a Tulsa lawyer and environmental activist, died Monday at his home when a tree supporting a hammock fell and crushed him.”

Sounds like the trees might not want to be hugged!!
