Dawn Kamin, who owns an optometry office in Germantown, Tennessee, received a notice that flying the American flag outside her office is a violation of the complex’s bylaws.
“I was just appalled,” Dr. Kamin told Fox News Radio. “It’s the American flag. Really?”
According to a letter sent to Dr. Kamin by the business condominium group that owns her building, she must take down the flag by Aug. 22 or face the consequences—fines and paying for the cost to remove the flag and staff.
“I have family in the military and we have really become aware of our freedoms and what our soldiers do for us,”she said. “It’s not tacky. It’s just out of respect for our military and the wonderful country that we have the privilege of living in.”
Lest we forget, last May students in California were forced to remove their American flag T-shirts on Cinco de Mayo because school administrators said that any display of Old Glory was “incendiary” anddisrespectful on the holiday of a foreign country…even on American soil.
Because Joe Biden said so…
A few weeks ago, Vice President Joe Biden said patriotic conservative Americans were “acting like terrorists,” and clearly the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agrees, because their recently released series of terrorist-watch videos “See Something, Say Something” have revealed a new terror threat: Americans!
These video clips depict Americans as terror threats, and then advises citizens to not report on the suspicious activities of foreigners and those who are heard speaking a foreign language, but rather, to report the odd behaviors of Americans.
One of the DHS videos displays newspaper clippings of Americans who have committed acts of terror, such as Ted Kaczynski the Unabomber, and Timothy McVey, one of the men involved in the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. Yet, the video fails to show pictures of the 19 9/11 hijackers, or members of al-Qaeda, Hamas and Hezbollah, or members of other foreign terrorist organizations.
Is this simply a methodical effort by the DHS to be politically correct? Many say “no,” because the DHS has gone out of its way to cast a shadow on middle-America by creating scenarios in which every suspected terrorist is an American citizen.
Unfortunately, these profiling tactics aren’t new, because according to documents written by the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC) in 2009, if you display the Gadsden flag, or consider yourself to be Libertarian or a supporter of the liberty movement, then you just might be the biggest threat to our national security.
This is a prime example of an imposing police-state, where the government tasks citizens with the job of spying on their neighbors, instead of using the government’s resources to protect patriotic Americans from the real terror threats.
How much longer will you remain silent and continue to be pushed around before you stand up and tell every member of Congress to stand up and protect your Fourth Amendment rights?
TSA shakedown
Young children and grandmothers also seem to be on the Transportation and Security Administration’s (TSA) radar as suspected terrorists.
Recently, a Tennessee woman was arrested by police at the Nashville International Airport for refusing to go through the TSA’s airport screening machine, and for refusing to allow her daughter to be patted-down by a TSA agent.
According to a police report, the mother told TSA agents that she didn’t want her daughter to be “touched inappropriately” or have her “crotch grabbed.” And since she refused to allow the screening, she was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
The mother was also prevented from taking a video of the incident on her mobile phone.
Protecting citizens’ privacy and property rights is the purpose of the Fourth Amendment!
As Americans, we are losing this right … in our homes, on our private property, in the airport, and even out in public, where every move we make could be reported to authorities as a suspicious activity!
Last month, Americans witnessed the dismantling of our Fourth Amendment by governing authorities after a 95-year-old leukemia patient was stripped of her Depends adult diaper by TSA agents and held for one hour so the agents could inspect her undergarment.
“It’s something I couldn’t imagine happening on American soil,” said Jean Weber, the daughter of the 95-year-old leukemia patient.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), has also expressed his anger toward the TSA after one of his constituents, a 6-year-old child, was searched by a TSA agent. “…you’re missing the boat on terrorism because you’re doing these invasive searches on 6-year-old girls,” Sen. Paul said to John Pistole, the administrator of the TSA at the DHS, during a Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing on invasive TSA searches.
“It makes me think you’re clueless, if you think she’s going to attack our country and you’re not doing your research on the people who want to attack our country,” Sen. Paul added.
“The hijackers who came here were over-staying their welcome and were on student-visas, but were not going to school. We need to be doing better police work and doing less of the universal giving up of our freedom to live our life the way we would like to live our life.”
We cannot continue to allow the majority of our elected representatives to look the other way while the government tramples on our Fourth Amendment protections.
